Literaturaren genero guztiak landu ditu bere idazlanetan: poesia, elaberrigintza, ipuingintza eta saiakera. Hainbat euskal autore klasiko beste hizkuntzetara itzuli ditu, eta literatura unibertsaleko lanak euskaratu ere bai. Prentsan maiz artikuluak plazaratzen ditu, eta telebistarako eta zinemarako gidoilari lanetan ere aritu izan da. 1978an Oh! Euzkadi literatura aldizkari berritzailea sortu zuen, Ramon Saizarbitoriarekin eta beste idazle batzuekin batera, eta 80ko hamarkadan Bernardo Atxagarekin elkarlanean Panpina Ustela aldizka atera zuen. 1990. urtean Offeko maitasuna filma zuzendu zuen.
